Oral pathology is a basic science that provides an insight into the disease processes affecting oral and maxillofacial region, which is very essential for their proper diagnosis and management. The subject is very vast and seems voluminous at the undergraduate level. The standard textbooks available for the subject are comprehensive and basically do not intend to prepare an undergraduate student for taking university examination.

Viva voce is an essential part of the examination pattern in majority of health universities; and, due to lack of proper guidance, the students are not well prepared to face this section of the examination. This prompted us to come out with this concise manual, whose prime focus is on training undergraduate students to appear confidently for viva voce in oral pathology. The manual, at the same time, also provides all the essential information in a question-answer format that will be helpful for preparing for theory examination.
